Proposal for development between scientific and educational centers of Iran and Saratov province of Russia

The governor of Saratov, Russia, recently sent an official letter requesting the cooperation of the universities of the mentioned province with the Iranian universities. Therefore, Shahid Beheshti University, as the head of the National Working Group on International Scientific Cooperation with Russia, while informing about the issues raised, declares its readiness to facilitate communication between the universities that are members of the Russian Working Group and the universities of Saratov province.
General information about this request is given below:
Currently, the Scientific and Educational Center for Middle East Studies operates at the State Center for Higher Education at the Saratov State Research University named after Chernyshevsk. That university is interested in establishing and developing cooperation with Iranian universities and is ready to study the possibility of accepting university professors from the Islamic Republic of Iran to work. Therefore, that center suggests the following:
• Signing a contract / agreement / memorandum of understanding for cooperation with educational, scientific and medical centers of Iran to implement an academic mobility program in the field of exchange of professors, students and research personnel, training and joint research;
• Admission of citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran to study in different fields of Saratov State Medical University;
• Attending admission ceremonies for Iranian universities to select elites to study at Saratov State Medical University;
• Activities in the field of medical tourism;
Also, the State Center for Higher Education “Saratov State Technical University named Gagarin” is ready to accept Iranian students and provide quality resources for education and accommodation of students. Saratov State Technical University offers Russian as a foreign language for admission students.
The Saratov State Conservatory called Sainov State Higher Education Center is also ready to accept Iranian students.

Speech of the President of Shahid Beheshti University in the “Fifth Meeting of the Presidents of the Top Universities of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation”

The fifth meeting of the heads of the top universities of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation was held on Tuesday, 7 July 2020, with the presence of the ministers of science, research and technology, ambassadors and heads of the top universities of the two countries hosted by Russia and Dr. Nasiri Gheidari, president of the Shahid Beheshti University made a speech.

He did gratitude from Professor Sadovichi, President of Moscow State University, and Dr. Nili Ahmadabadi, President of the University of Tehran, as the secretaries of the meeting to hold this meeting, and expressed the outlines of educational, research and technology cooperation between Shahid Beheshti University and Russia.

Dr. Nasiri Gheidari, first referring to the responsibility of Shahid Beheshti University as the “leading house for International Scientific Cooperation with Russia”, announced the membership of 51 Iranian universities and research institutes in this committee, noted the hold of five meetings of this committee (the last meeting on 16 Jun 2020 was held virtually) so far.

In addition, he mentioned the formation of the “International Policy Council” on Russia at Shahid Beheshti University, with the participation of current, previous and former advisers of Islamic Republic of Iran in Russia, Deputy of the Center for International Scientific Cooperation of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, General Director of Scholarships and Student Dispatch, Representative of the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology, Director of the Aerospace Research Institute, Director of the National Institute of Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences, President of the Islamic Azad University and other veteran colleagues, he said that good prospects are being drawn in this think tank for future cooperation with Russian educational and research centers.

Dr. Nasiri Gheidari, enumerating the number of held  technical meetings in the field of scientific relations with Russia in the past 5 months, said that this issue shows the interest of Shahid Beheshti University in developing relations with Russian universities and research institutes.

He also referred to the 11 Memorandum of Understanding of cooperation since 2015, held 9 joint scientific meetings, 15 visits of academic delegations to educational and research centers of the two countries, 7 joint research projects, the presence of 14 faculty members of Shahid Beheshti University in prestigious conferences. He also mentioned the participation of 15 Russian professors in conferences held at Shahid Beheshti University, and some other statistics related to bilateral cooperation.

The President of Shahid Beheshti University then counted the number of faculty members graduating from Russia (13 faculty members) and stated that in general, about one third of the faculty members of Shahid Beheshti University have graduated from abroad, which is a very high capacity to promote international scientific cooperation.

He considered the establishment of “Researchers Search System” of Shahid Beheshti University as one of the important and basic measures taken by the director of international scientific cooperation of this university and the development of the system with the approval of the Acting Minister for International Scientific Cooperation, at the national level to facilitate identification and communication with Iranian researchers in the near future.

He also added that another activity carried out by this directorate was the launch of a scientific cooperation website with Russia, in order to collect and integrate information related to the educational and research activities of the universities and research institutes of the two countries with the aim of developing a strategic cooperation plan.

At the end of his speech, Dr. Nasiri referred to the efforts of Shahid Beheshti University as the leading house for international scientific cooperation with Russia, in guiding and organizing the country’s students to use the Russian Government Scholarship 2020-2021, and also he explained the strategies and approaches to promote international scientific cooperation with Russia.

The Fifth online meeting of the National Working Group of International Scientific Cooperation with Russia was held

The fifth meeting of the National committee of Coordination and Pursuit of International Scientific Cooperation with Russia, due to coronavirus crisis was virtually held by Shahid Beheshti University (Leading House for coordination of Academic Cooperation with the Russian Federation universities) on Tuesday, 16 June 2020, with the presence of Dr. Nasiri Gheydari the president of Shahid Behehsti University, Dr Karimiyan director of International Scientific cooperation directorate, Dr. Najafi, Scientific Advisor of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Russia, White Russia and Ukraine, Dr. Gholami, former scientific advisor of Embassy of Islamic Republic of Iran in Moscow and other international scientific representative members of this group.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Nasiri Gheidari, while announcing the launch of the “Russian Academic Collaboration Thinking Room” at Shahid Beheshti University today, stressed the need to expand the importance of international scientific cooperation with Russia.

In addition, Dr. Najafi, announced the opportunities for cooperation with Russia, and also spoke about the two main axes of the Russian State Scholarship and teaching the Russian language, as well as the arrangements made to organize this matter.

Dr. Gholami then enumerated the available opportunities for the committee on international scientific cooperation with Russia in the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology of Iran’s president office, emphasizing the necessity to extend the academic cooperation between universities and scientific centers in the country to make the maximum benefit of these capacities.

Finally, the meeting ended with questions session by members of the committee and a conclusion speech by Dr. Karimian.

Russian Government Scholarship 2021-2020

According to the “Scientific Advisory Website and Student Supervisor in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Central Asia” and following negotiations with the Russian Embassy, a number of scholarships in postgraduate (preferably doctoral) courses have been awarded to Iranian applicants. Holding the fourth meeting of the Russian National Working Group with the participation of representatives of member centers

The fourth meeting of the National Working Group on Coordination and Pursuit of International Scientific Cooperation with Russia, hosted by Shahid Beheshti University on Saturday, February 26, 2016, was attended by President and Director of International Scientific Cooperation of Shahid Beheshti University, and Scientific and Technology Associate of the Embassy of the Russian Federation, Scientific Advisor of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Russia and Ukraine, as well as with the presence of deputies, managers and international representatives of universities, research institutes and research centers. International university events were held.

Representatives of Al-Zahra University and Khaja Nasir al-Din al-Tusi presented reports on Russia. Dr. Gholami, a former scientific advisor, and Dr. Abtahi, a former scientific advisor to the Islamic Republic of Iran in Russia, also spoke about expanding cooperation with Russia.

Extension of registration for the 2020-2019 Scholarship of Russian Universities until 30 March, 2019

According to the announcement of the General Management of the Scholarship and the sending of students of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, the deadline for registration in the Scholarship of the Universities of Russia 2020-2019 has been extended until 30 March, 2019.

It is essential to mention that the deadline for registration in this event had been announced before 1 February 2019.

Holding the fourth meeting of the Russian National Working Group with the participation of representatives of member centers

Due to the responsibility of the National Working Group on International Scientific Cooperation with Russia appointed to Shahid Beheshti University, the second meeting of the working group was attended by Dr. Gholami, Scientific Advisor of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Moscow, Dr. Abtahi, Director of the National Institute of Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences, Parsizadeh International Officer of the Fund for Supporting Researchers and Representatives of Comprehensive Universities of Applied Sciences, Payame Noor, Sharif Industrial, Khajeh Nasir, Amir Kabir, Alam va Sanat, Ferdowsi Mashhad, Kharazmi, Tarbiat Modares, Isfahan Industrial, Yazd, Gilan, Zanjan, Shahrekord, Arak, Sistan and Baluchestan, Shahroud Industrial, Urmia Industrial, Noshirvani Industrial Babol, Golpayegan Technical and Engineering, Meybod, Shahid Beheshti Medical Sciences, Iran Space Research Institute, Higher Education Research and Planning Institute and Fund for Supporting Researchers and Technologists at 10:00 AM It was held on Monday, 23April 2018, in the Sheikh Baha’i Conference Hall of the International Conference Center of Shahid Beheshti University.

The meeting began with a welcome speech by Dr. Shokri, Vice Chancellor for Research and Technology at Shahid Beheshti University, then Dr. Shirani, Director of the International Scientific Cooperation Directorate while referring to the results of the first meeting of the Russian Working Group, which was held in September of last year, presented a report on the activities carried out in this field. Furthermore, Dr. Gholami introduced the potentials of cooperation with Russian universities and Dr. Abtahi, as a former scientific advisor of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Russia, pointed out some explanations on how to cooperate with Russia.

At the end of the meeting and after the question session by the participating members in the meeting, Parsizadeh, the international head of the Researchers’ Support Fund, explained the criteria for benefiting from the funds and financial supports and how to select the projects. Also, Dr. Naimi, a faculty member of Shahid Beheshti University, provided explanations about the cooperation between the Shahid Abbaspour Campus Turbine Research Center and the Russian counterpart and the Turbo Expander project.

 

Holding the first meeting of the Russian National Working Group with the participation of representatives of member centers

The first meeting of the National Working Group on Coordination and Pursuit of International Scientific Cooperation with Russia was held on Tuesday, 19 September 2017 at the University’s International Conference Center, Sheikh Baha’i Hall, by the University’s International Cooperation Management. After the introductory ceremony, Dr. Abtahi, University Research Vice president, spoke about the interactions between Iran and Russia in various fields of science and technology. He spoke about Russia’s prestigious universities and their move towards internationalization. Consideration of applied knowledge, equipment and facilities in Russian universities, creativity in students, native and developed scientific school of this country, were among the reasons given by Dr. Abtahi for cooperation with Russian universities in Iran. Afterwards, Dr. Sheikhi explained the establishment of the Lomonosov Moscow State University office at Shahid Beheshti University and its activities. Then, each of the attendees discussed extensive cooperation with Russian universities. Discussions on the use of scholarships by Russian universities, the review of memorandums of understanding and joint projects with Russian universities, and the emphasis on encouraging the development of interaction with Russian universities were among the topics discussed at the meeting.
